Job Description: Yoga Instructor
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Yoga Instructor to join our Sports and Athletics Coaching team. As a Yoga Instructor, your primary responsibility will be to guide and instruct individuals or groups in various yoga techniques and practices to enhance their physical and mental well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct yoga classes, workshops, and private sessions to individuals or groups, ensuring the delivery of high-quality instruction.
- Develop and implement yoga programs tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of participants.
- Instruct participants on proper yoga techniques, breathing exercises, meditation, and relaxation techniques.
- Demonstrate and assist participants in performing yoga poses, adjusting postures, and providing modifications as needed.
- Provide guidance on correct body alignment, posture, and breathing techniques to maximize the benefits of yoga practice.
- Create a safe and inclusive environment that encourages participants to explore and deepen their yoga practice.
- Monitor participants' progress, provide feedback, and motivate them to achieve their fitness and wellness goals.
- Ensure all yoga equipment is properly set up, maintained, and stored in a clean and organized manner.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in yoga practices, techniques, and teaching methodologies.
- Assist in promoting yoga programs, events, and workshops within the community and through marketing initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Certified Yoga Instructor with a recognized yoga certification (e.g., RYT 200, RYT 500, or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a Yoga Instructor, preferably in a group fitness or studio setting.
- In-depth knowledge of various yoga styles, including Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Yin, and Restorative Yoga.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and principles of alignment related to yoga practice.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate instructions and provide constructive feedback.
- Demonstrated ability to create a positive and motivating atmosphere for participants of all levels and abilities.
- Proficient in guiding participants through meditation and relaxation techniques.
- Ability to adapt yoga instruction to accommodate participants' injuries, limitations, or specific requirements.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively plan and execute yoga classes.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate morning, evening, and weekend classes as required.
- Passionate about promoting overall health and wellness through the practice of yoga.
